Overcoming Fear: Or is it really the FLAME?

Overcoming Fear: Or is it really the FLAME?

Several weeks ago a discussion on one of my pages on facebook, Blogger Monday with Ann Evanston got me thinking. Fear is a feeling but it also creates a physical response, and the physical response can be similar to embarrassment, excitement, chemistry…

Maybe it isn’t fear we feel though? Maybe it’s another trigger that we REALLY need to listen to.

How do you make sure you are not discounting the FLAME as fear?

Focus, Passion, Purpose and Loving Life

Focus, Passion, Purpose and Loving Life

I recently wrote a blog about Purpose, Passion and Voice that raised an interesting question. This video will explain further:

Have many passions, live life passionately, but build a career, a business around a focused passion or an umbrella that will encompass those passions. Also, remember my earlier post about FOCUS. Once you take one passion, monetize it, and develop it to make money with little effort on your part, absolutely add the next passion to do the same!

Lastly, remember that some passions are just meant to be personal. Sometimes it’s just that you LOVE living life- I do!  See, I love to exercise. I’ve even had people tell me I’d make a GREAT trainer (well I am a coach right?!), but working out is something I do for me.

How do you separate your personal and professional passions? Are you loving life and creating passion in your business? Are you creating a brand that allows you to bring different passions to life under the brand?

Reality Check and Influence – or is it just Your Programming?

What are the 2 most powerful words we can say to our self? I AM. “I am” programs our current state of being. Whether in the negative or the positive, it sets up our body to experience what we are saying. Think about it. Did you wake up and say to yourself; “I am so tired,” or “I am refreshed and ready for the day?”

Sometimes without even realizing it, we can be our own worst critics and say things that our body then believes.

Do you say:

“I’m fat” or “I’m a lean, mean machine!”

“I’m broke” or “I’m attracting everything I need and more.”

What I have realized is that this often happens at an unconscious level. I have to:
1-stop – think consciously about what I have been thinking about
2-change it right then and there
3-feel the new I am statement in my body for a reality check

Brian Tracy says we need to “release the brakes!”

Here is a little recording excerpt from a piece I do when I speak in front of audiences:

How can you change your I AM statements today to reflect a more positive day? How are you feeling right now that might have been created by I AM statements? Can you see how this will create an energy that shifts your ability to be more influential?

Difference of Opinion and Social Media: Don’t be a KeyBoard Warrior!

I am a warrior- I love being a warrior, but I have been thinking a TON about this lately on social media sites:

I want to be able to dialogue with people, absolutely! I, just like each of you, want to feel respected for my viewpoint. So here is my pledge:

1-I promise to practice this MORE often, especially with people I feel closer to. You are the ones I often think can handle my strong opinion and that’s not fair.

2-I also promise that if my opinion is super strong, I will post what I think on my wall or profile, but if you choose to jump in, you are fair game.

3-I will also promise to take the 1 minute “time out” when I write a response due to an emotional reaction BEFORE I post it, and then ask myself, how should I rephrase this or not post at all?

What can you do to make sure that social media sites remain a place of positive interaction and sharing, even when we disagree?

Focus, Passion, Purpose and Loving Life

Is it Creativity, or is it Stealing?

I know many of you watching have felt this pain, I hope you will share your story of how you handled it in the comments section!

How can we help people, that like me when I was that kid in the store taking the barbie shoes, might not realize they are stealing?

What is Your “Culinary Point of View”?

So what does  your culinary point of view got to do with brand messaging? EVERYTHING! I was watching the Food Network show The Next Food Network Star (yes I love reality TV, I will admit it, I especially like the the shows about getting your business out there! I was inspired to post this Vlog.  MANY of my clients struggle with the very question that does not allow these chefs/cooks to have their DREAM of being a Food Network Host! What is your “culinary point of view?”

Challenge yourself to define a clear focused target market- it will improve your blog, it will gather your focus on social media, it will define your expertise! Don’t be generic! Don’t loose your show!

Some of you have a target market that just isn’t sexy-time to really think about who you want to serve. Ask yourself:

1-What am I truly passionate about?

2-What types of people do I love communicating with?

3-Who are my favorite customers right now?
