Acceptance and Self-Worth: The First Frame of a Healthy Bad-Assery Business

Acceptance and Self-Worth: The First Frame of a Healthy Bad-Assery Business

“The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.” Carl Rogers

I have written before about the importance of learning acceptance versus always having to understand why . But that acceptance, which is important to self-worth, was more about accepting actions and behaviors of others and situations you may not have control over. This quote from Carl Rogers is about fully accepting yourself.

I’m sure I’ve said this to you before but, in case you haven’t heard it or read it, I’m going to say it again!

[Tweet “”When you stand completely alone and naked, in front of the mirror, with just the thoughts in your head, what do you say?””]

Can you stand there in full acceptance?

Acceptance is the cornerstone to a powerful self-worth. Self-worth is the first of the five frames of the healthy bad-assery business that I work on with clients. I find that most

people have a brilliant business concept. Most entrepreneurs know what they’re supposed to contribute to the world. Yet they get in their own way.

Here is a simple example:

Charging a price point and owning a price point begins with acceptance of
yourself. Once you can fully accept you, you’ll be able to charge that price
point with confidence and own it

Do you have something you struggle achieving because you need to work on acceptance of self to be able to change it?

Transformation is NOT the Goal: Transcendence Is

True TranscendenceAlmost 3 years ago (my, time flies) I had what I now call a transcendence in my life and business. Not a transformation. I’ll explain more in this article!

[Tweet “Transcendence, for me, is different than transformation. “]

See, I have been a speaker and coach forever! (No, really, since 1990!) I’ve watched myself and others transform…only to transform right back to who they were before the training about two weeks later. Sounds familiar? You have EVERY good intention…might even do one or two things…but you fall back into your “old self.”

In my mind a chameleon transforms. It transforms its color and it can always go back to green. But the chameleon will always be a chameleon. A butterfly transcends. It will never go back to being a caterpillar. It truly has transcended what it was before.

What I’ve realized is that I have transcended many times in my life. You probably have too. Yet knowing how to do it with intention is ultimately the key. So I have taken my psychology background, my 18 years business savvy, and what I went through those years ago and developed a program called “True Transcendence.” (Ok, working title, it may evolve!) See, the ability to truly transcend and NEVER go bback is such an important part of next level of success!

Over the last year I have been “testing” the steps needed to transcend and putting the work and training around it- so exciting!

I began in my Meetup, Women Wine and Wisdom. With the questions I’m asking in that group and the training work I’m developing I’m now able to show others how to transcend and never go back to where they were before! This first live program is coming in June!

I am planning to share some of those things in these blogs, so I hope you will join me on the journey
