The Power of Who You Are

The Power of Who You Are

I find that the more power I give to what others think, the more I lose myself. When I am truly me in heart and spirit my tribe surrounds me. Supports me. Creates the womb that keeps me going.

Being in the social space as much as I am makes it easy to question myself. That’s why I must retreat. To find me. To keep me strong. To nurture what makes me who I am. To shed away the gunk that others energetically project into who they think I should be.

You deserve the same.

The Power of Who You Are

Attraction without Action

Do you take action?  I have been blown away by the number of people I have seen that have invested good money on a class, webinar or seminar and did not attend, or fully take advantage of the investment. As I thought about it I realized that it probably happens in other areas of their lives too – gym memberships unused, books never read, technology and tools never fully utilized. Is it possible that these people are attracted to something, but not acting on what that thing is? Are they wanting a certain lifestyle and not doing the work it takes to make it happen?

I once did a video about anything worth having is worth working on. Nobody said it was easy. But so many seem to fall for “the quick fix” the “simple plan”. What they forget is that the fix and the plan require you work on them. The funny thing for me is these are often people that are claiming they are broke- but there goes another $197 on a webinar!

I can’t make you put in the work, actually no one can- but you.

I bet there is one thing you should probably go back and work on huh?

The Power of Who You Are

I’m not a big fan of wishes…

I am a fan of making things real. Achieving the unachievable. Reaching for things that seem impossible. Wishing doesn’t get me anywhere. And I find that people that “wish” they had, or “wish” this would happen rarely get it. Is it because the wish is like an excuse when they say “I wish”? Are they just blowing in the wind?

Just this warrior’s thought.

Power, Persistence and Growth: Lessons Learned from Calla Lilies and the Gym

Recently I hired a trainer to help me workout (yes, I think if you are a coach or trainer you hire coaches and trainers on occasion!) My reason for wanting one was simple:

I had formed some limiting beliefs about being in the gym, that I needed help getting over.

I needed help creating a strategy where I could measure results.

I wanted a system that would help me be persistent and successful in my current lifestyle.

See in the latter part of 1993 to 2003 I was a POWERHOUSE in the gym. And with change in my life: moving, love, travel for business, growing my own business, tragedy… I stopped working out. Of course, when we started we took measurements and weighed in. Here is what happened 30 days later at weigh in and some of my thoughts around it:

So what’s the point? Remember the Calla Lily blog? Right now, in this part of my life, I am the Calla Lily. You may be the Calla Lily in some part of your life as well. Maybe it’s working out regularly, like with me. Maybe it’s in growing a business. You have to ask yourself:

  1. Am I dealing with my limiting beliefs around this subject?
  2. Have I created a strategy that helps me measure results?
  3. If I don’t immediately get the results I desire, what system have I created to be persistent and eventually successful?

Too often people quit WAY too soon. As Jeff Olsen of The Slight Edge says: “Success is the continuous movement toward a worthy goal or ideal.”

What challenges are you facing where you need to stick to your plan right now?

The Power of Who You Are

Happiness is…What Ann Evanston has learned in her 40+ years

With my birthday coming up I have been thinking a TON about happiness, so of course I did a little video:

So what to realize about happiness?

  • Love is easy-happiness is harder. I have loved many people; I am not always happy with them.
  • Happy is a choice. It’s better to be happy and alone than unhappy and surrounded.
  • When you smile more you are happy more. YES, just smile right now!
  • Laughter is the fastest way to happiness.
  • No one can make you happy but you, and when you try and make everyone else happy, they just don’t appreciate you. Make you happy first; others will admire and respect who you are.

I know it’s easy to read this and immediately think “what does she know, her life seems so perfect.” Think again, I have many challenges and trials, but I still choose happy. For example, most people do not know that my husband has been out of work for 4 months. Living in California, that is scary! And due to a terrible car accident, I have chronic pain, ouch! You know what? I still choose HAPPY.

It’s funny to me because unhappy people don’t really like me – hahaha – go figure! My favorite way to stay happy is to laugh. I laugh, a lot. I find humor in many things. And I laugh OUT LOUD every day.

How do you stay happy?

Achieving Greater Happiness and Your Goals

Achieving Greater Happiness and Your Goals

I recently started a new exercise program based on how I achieve success in my life. Yes I do vision boards, but let’s face it manifesting it isn’t enough. Action is required. This video shares the power of TEN in achieving success:

The steps in the video are CRITICALLY important, do BOTH forced rankings, skipping it will not give you the true reality check you need.

Then, compare the lists. Where can you make changes now you make the “reality list” look for like the “need to do list”? If you really want to achieve it, you must act as if, making these lists match is important! One of the things I share in all my audio inspiration programs, like Building Your Business is the “Just 10” model for success. Just 10 means you focus 10 minutes EVERY DAY on the things that are most important.

What changes do you need to make, and how are you going to achieve greater success, happiness, fitness, wealth, relationship…after your “reality check”?
